Working hours 37.5h/week (100%) | Fixed term until 31 December 2027, contract renewal may be possible subject to funding availability. | Gross salary starting from €2,800 negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Euro-BioImaging ERIC is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist, with expertise in Finnish Accounting Standards (FAS), to join our team in Turku. This newly established in-house position includes responsibility for day-to-day accounting and statutory financial reporting.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
As Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for Euro-BioImaging ERIC’s day-to-day accounting in accordance with Finnish Accounting Standards ). Accurate cost-centre accounting is fundamental to our financial management, project monitoring and internal reporting. You will work closely with the Head of Finance, HR and Administration and other team members. Within this supportive framework, you will independently manage your assigned responsibilities, including day-to-day accounting and accurate and well-maintained general ledger maintenance.
In this role, you will:
Take ownership of the general ledger and day-to-day accounting in Netvisor.
Take ownership of impeccable general ledger maintenance, with exceptional cost center bookkeeping.
Participate in a structured handover of accounting records, reconciliations, documentation and system responsibilities from the current outsourced accounting partner.
Carry out monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities in close collaboration with Head of Finance, HR and Administration.
Maintain balance-sheet reconciliations, as well as accrual, prepayment and other accounting schedules
Prepare VAT filings.
Prepare statutory annual financial statements for review and approval in close collaboration with Head of Finance, HR and Administration.
Assist in preparation of project (Horizon Europe) financial reports.
Identify opportunities to automate and improve accounting processes, reporting and the use of Netvisor.
Provide timely reliable accounting reports to colleagues.
Skills and Experience
Essential requirements
A relevant higher education degree from a university or university of applied sciences in accounting, business administration or a related field, with accounting as a major or substantial component, or an equivalent qualification.
Relevant practical accounting experience: for example, approximately one year as Accounting Specialist or similar roles is preferred; recent graduates with strong accounting studies and relevant internship/ trainee experience may also be considered.
Experience with cost-centre or multidimensional accounting.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing complete, accurate and reliable accounting information within agreed deadlines.
Ability to take responsibility for day-to-day accounting tasks and manage them through to completion.
A proactive, collaborative and service-minded working style, including open communication and a willingness to consult with colleagues when needed.
Professional working proficiency in English. Fluency in Finnish and/or Swedish is considered an advantage.
Availability to work regularly on-site at the Euro-BioImaging ERIC Headquarters in Turku (Finland).
Considered an advantage
Hands-on experience with Netvisor accounting software.
Accounting experience, in a European Research Infrastructure Consortium or another not-for-profit legal entity, such as an association, foundation, or international organization.
Experience in project accounting or the financial administration of EU-funded projects.
